While successfully climbing her way up the Hollywood career ladder pimpom ‘locked-down’ Leven to get the low-down on her new ABC show ‘Scoundrels’
With an ever rising television career, things are moving fast for 20 year old LEVEN RAMBIN. As one of today’s most prominent actresses in Young Hollywood her resume includes roles on popular U.S. shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Lipstick Jungle and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
This week has been the lead up to the premiere of her latest project – ABC’s new comedy-drama Scoundrels, about a family of small-time criminals about to go straight, airing tomorrow night. Texas born Leven stars as aspiring model Heather West in this much anticipated upcoming series.
Despite this being a busy time in her life, pimpom was lucky enough to catch Leven on her Blackberry for an exclusive chat.
Here’s what she told us about her career so far, her future Hollywood aspirations and all about her exciting new ABC show Scoundrels…
pimpom: How did you originally land the role(s) in ‘All My Children’ and how did it feel going back for the 40th Anniversary this year?
Leven Rambin: I auditioned for All My Children when I was 13, and it was my first professional acting audition. I was so nervous, but I think it worked in my favor for this character. I was so honored to be back for the 40th Anniversary because the show has so much history and so many beloved characters and to be recognized in that group was amazing. I will always look at that as a milestone.
pp: You’ve appeared in a lot of major American TV shows, is there a stand out highlight and what did you take away from those experiences?
LR: I really enjoyed working with Brooke Shields on NBC’s Lipstick Jungle and Eric Dane on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. They are so seasoned and such high caliber actors that I learned a lot about acting and the business in general working with them.

pp: You’re rapidy building a high profile career in television but what shows do you enjoy watching?
LR: I love True Blood, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, 30 Rock, and Glee. I’d love to be on any one of those shows.
pp: Lots of actresses appear in ad campaigns – you’re now signed to Wilhelmina – do you think modeling will develop as an important part of your career and as a way of reaching new audiences?
LR: I modeled for the covers on the new-generation Sweet Valley High books, and that has brought a lot of strange attention. I didn’t realize anyone would notice it was me or that the books were so popular!
pp: You must be excited for the premiere of ‘Scoundrels’, it looks like a really fun show. Tell us a bit about your character Heather West and what the audience can look forward to?
LR: Scoundrels is a really fun show about a family who gets by on being small-time crooks. Virginia Madsen plays the mom, Cheryl, who decides that our family must get legitimate jobs to protect our futures. Heather wants to be a famous supermodel and is very consumed in her looks and her success (or lack thereof). She is appalled when she has to find real work. She is a lot of fun for me to play because she acts so ditzy but has a cunning side.
pp: Is there a talent out there in the industry that you especially admire and, for you, what would be a dream role?
LR: I admire Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston because they are beautiful and smart, but can also play comedy or transform into characters totally different from themselves.
A dream role for me would be something in an action Comic Book franchise! Iron Man!!
With the essence of a young Scarlett Johansson and genuine developed talent things can only keep going up from here and pimpom can’t wait to see what more is in store for Leven Rambin!
Catch Leven tomorrow night (Sunday June 20th) on ABC’s Scoundrels at 9pm.
